Can I use furniture polish on a vintage gibson les paul to clean it up? or will it clog the pores of the wood?

My stepdad recently passed and me and my mom kept his vintage les paul..its a beautiful guitar and I want to make it shine so it looks nice. I could just go buy some guitar polish, but would regular lemon pledge make it shine without making the guitar less of value? and is there anything else i could use?

Stick to the guitar polish, dont use anything else, it could damage the finish. It isnt expensive to buy guitar cleaner, and they will have it at any music store that sells guitars.

Like the other guy said. DO NOT use anything but guitar polish and cleaner. Pledge could possibly damage the finish, and will have an effect on sound if it good into the wood. Guitar cleaner and polish is your best bet.
