Loved those amps.. How about one of the Fender Blues amps.. Not sure what they run these days.. under 400? Stick with what you like... I bought a Line 6 for my son, I've had every amp under the sun and still prefer the Fenders.. Twin is probably my fav. I'll have to read your post for other responses.. Good luck.. You might look at some modeling amps. They are generally cheaper and it might get you closer to the sound you are looking for. Fender has some cheaper amps and some may included some (modeled) fender tones. I own a Cyber Twin and love it but its pricey. It has a tube pre amp.
