I like Gibson Explorers and SGs, and I don't mind the Les Paul, it has an okay sound. I like Fender Telecasters, sometimes, but that's it. Personally, I love Jackson, Ibanez, and Godin. Jackson is great for metal, Godin is my top choice for rock and country, and Ibanez would be my in-between favorite. Frankly, I’m not a huge fan of either.

I personally like the Gibsons, but I really feel that if you're a decent guitarist, you can take any guitar and make it sound good. Each instrument (even ones of the same brand and type) has a different sound to it. I've owned two identical Ovations and they didn't sound even close. ALot of factors in there too, I know. But I figure, let your talent and skill do the talking first, then you can give recomendations as to instruments you prefer. Again, it's always a matter of opinion.
