The Fender could be used as a Blues, light rock, hippie rock, grunge, all the way up to Metal.. i know Yngwie Malmsteen uses a Fender.
The other one can be used for anything.
It all depends on the sound you like to play your music.

Easy hammer ons depends on the string type not the guitar type. There is no type of guitar for certain types of music, you can play the same songs on anyone with out too much difference. Fender would be more used for rock and alternative, gibson for rock and metal and Dime’s for metal.

it depends on how you play it and the metal one should be easiest for tapping
