i know the vintage is cheaper…but if its just as good…id go for that cuz right now i CAN afford the studio..just barely tho
better for playing..thats the whole point of buying a guitar…to play it

Better neck? The neck is *exactly* the same. Read it – they both say “Mahogany 59 Rounded Les Paul neck”.
The woods are the same, with the exception that the studio model has a maple top and mahogany body while the vintage has a solid mahogany body. To me, this means that the studio will have a little bit more lively tone with more treble and overtones, but the vintage will have a deeper fundamental tone with more sustain.
The pickups are different, but that’s no reason to pick between them, especially since you will probably want to upgrade your pickups anyways.
I’d go for the vintage model, myself. I’m a big fan of mahogany bodies – the tone is great. It costs less, and gives the same quality as the more expensive model. Me, I’d probably end up swapping out the pickups anyways, maybe slap in some Seymour Duncans, like some JB’s or something.
Then again, I don’t think I’ll ever spend a thousand dollars on a guitar, ever. I could build a sweet custom guitar for that much!
