Hi
Hi
Can anyone tell me if a vintage fender strat pickups (1970) are any good ?
Are these special in anyway or are they just expensive because they come from an old fender ?
Are modern pickups better ?
If ‘no’ then why the with all the technology cant we make better pickups in this day an age in China than in the US 30 years ago ?
Thanks !

Check out the Fender-Lace pickups.
I have them in my Strat and I think they’re better than any others, plus you can get different styles according to your own tastes.
Low noise and high output for incredible response and sustain. Each color represents a different sound: Silver is like an overwound Strat pickup with added midrange harmonics and bass.
Gold is the classic Vintage Strat sound with glassy bell like tones (used on the Clapton and Buddy Guy
Stratocasters).
The Blue is warm and loud like an old 50′s humbucking pickup.
Red is the scorcher with high output, lots of midrange harmonics and crunch like a hot humbucking pickup.
Check them out before you buy.
