Will T asked: I was told by a luthier that my guitar was probably a “Kay” or
“Harmony” archtop, circa late 40′s, but am unable to verify it
as the decal has long since disappeared from the headstock.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

alex l asked: What makes a Gibson Guitar Vintage? I heard it was only from 20s and early 70s, where can i find a value sheet?(Ive seen this somewhere before?) Do you think one that is made in the early 90s will have greater value in 50 years?

Jon D asked: I don’t get it. How do you classify a guitar as vintage, or new?
no. i have lots of vintage guitars- when i sell i dont write VINTAGE on them. like say i have a guitar made in, oh i dont know, ’59, thats old. then if i have a guitar from ’90, the one in ’90 is still nearly 20 years old- not as old as one almost 50 years old. BUT the ’59 isnt even close to one made in 1800′s! WHAT IS THE REASON THAT MOST THINK THE 59 IS VINTAGE (which i think) AND THE 90 ISNT (which i also think)!!!!!!!!

Just me asked: My sister found a vintage 1954 Les Paul guitar in a Gibson hard-shell case with faux fur lining, the guitar and case are in excellent to mint condition. Her boyfriend owns the storage container and received the guitar back in the 70′s on a trade deal for some auto work he did for this guy. He forgot the guitar was in this storage building until today when she was cleaning it out. How do you find out the value of this gem? They don’t have internet to do research so I told them I would try to find out.
No warping or fading
original knobs which were made that year for that specific guitar, strings…everything beautiful

Ben M asked: If the musicians of Yahoo! Answers had to pick one of the two, which one would it be, and why?
I’m asking this because I’m looking to get one of them as a starter bass (the Squier version, yes I know they’re pretty bad, but I have to start somewhere).
I’ve heard great things about the vintage, awesome pickups, great neck finish, not so great fretwire. What about the P/J pickup configuration of the P bass special, is it any better or more versatile than the already famous versatility of the J bass?
