casey asked:

the only equipment i have at the moment is a fender bullet 150 and it has some distortion effects but they make the overall sound pretty low quality. i’m using a vintage gibson sg with some modifications so what are some of the best distortion pedals that would sound great with my guitar? i’ve heard Digitech WH-1 Whammy and Pro-co cat were good but really im not very good with technical stuff so any opinions?

stefanpaintball asked:

hey i recently came into a fender classic 50s reissue mim and it came with fender scn noiseless pickups. now i also have a set of van zandt true vintage pickups that i have laying around. i was wondering what would give me a better overall tone and more close to a david gilmour tone. the van zandt a over double to price and they do sound pretty decent from what i remember but they have much less output, VZ -6, 5.8,5.8 kohms(NMB) and the Fender -6.5,6.5.11.6 kohms (NMB)

Brian O asked:

The 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus which is $2,600 has the exact same pickups as the $800 Gibson Les Paul Studio Vintage Mahogany. They can’t sound much different, can they? What is the difference?

atom1968 asked:

I have an old Gibson SG guitar. Serial # on the back of the headstock is 773824. It says “MADE IN USA” in all caps. I was told it’s probably a 1974 from the person I bought it from. It looks just like this: http://www.vintage-guitars.se/1974_Gibson_SG_Standard_394026.jpg.
What year is it? (this is not a quiz. I really don’t know what year it is).

Im having a custom guitar body built, and I was wondering what the difference between one-piece electric guitar bodies, two-piece guitar bodies, and chambered electric guitar bodies tone-wise. Also, I was wondering what wood the original vintage fender stratocasters were made of?

I could buy a Gibson Les Paul Custom from the early 70′s,or I could get a new one.I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had experience with vintage guitars and their reliability(neck problems and the such). The guitar has to be tough enough to withstand everyday use and road use. Thanks

Am on holiday in Canada from UK next year, Don’t want a guitarless fortnight! Don’t like the Martin backpacker. Would love Ovation trekker but seem to be unavailable in UK, possibly out of production in US.
