fo shizzle asked: I am just a beginner, so it has to be easy to play. but here’s the thing, i dont like the look of the newer guitars, like the fender starcaster which is what i have now, I love the vintage look. But I cannot afford any of them, there like $1,000+ even on eBay (such as this one that I really like http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-1973-GIBSON-LES-PAUL-CUSTOM-ELECTRIC-GUITAR_W0QQitemZ290246833640QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item290246833640)
Does anyone know where I can get a guitar like this but for under $300? I know I probably wont be able to get an original for this cheap, but maybe a remake that has that vintage look and good sound quality?
Thank you

ben n asked: I have been playing now for about 2 months. I found out that I really enjoy playing and am going to stick with it. I have a Gibson Epoch that doesn’t tune correctly and many other things i’m not happy with. When I play my instructors gibson it feels and plays much better. I play vintage rock and new rock.

I am almost positive it is this guitar

I saw it at guitar center, and it was $440 – only because it was the last one they had and they had not sold it yet. it was a 60s stratocaster. how good is this guitar? thanks
also the price is sooooooo low. IT WAS NOT USED EITHER.
why?
THIS WAS THE GUITAR!!!!
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Classic-Player-60s-Stratocaster?sku=512767
so that’s $360 off, is it good?
is was the sunburst red/brown color NOT the light blue

Taylor M asked: My mother bought a solid dark red electric guitar back in 1981. The person she bought it from had completely refurbished it so there was no name or trade mark on it. He told her than that it was 20 yrs old. So the guitar today would be roughly 47 yrs old. I have been told it looks like an old fender. How would i find out?

I’ve been playing flamenco guitar for about ten years now, and my musical interests have broadened somewhat. I’d like to get into electric guitar, and the Strat always seems to come highly recommended.
The problem is that there seem to be over a hundred models, and it’s hard to understand all the features.
Question: what features are most desirable, most important, etc.? I have no professional aspirations, but I would like a guitar that I’m not going to outgrow any time soon — you know, one with sufficient features and quality that I’m not going to be shopping for a new one five years from now. I’m not interested in spectacular looks, models named after famous people, collectors vintage models, etc.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I’m in search of an electric guitar, and was wanting to know everyone’s opinions on brands. He wants a Fender, but we also spotted an awsome Samick pack. I’d love to have the amp included. I’ve also heard Yahama are ok also. I don’t want a vintage, because of price and well, they’re old. lol More than one pickup and/or humbucker too. He is a beginer, but wants one that will always be better than he is. lol
Any ideas of what to look for, and what to look out for? Any links to sites with amazing deals on a new one? (I’ve been all over ebay so don’t point it out!)
Thanks for your help, and I hope to have him shreddin by x-mas!!!
;o)
I DID mention this is for my HUSBAND, not a child….. He’s been playing for only a couple months on an acoustic, but now wants an electric.

Akshay asked:
I want to buy a new electric guitar. I’m looking out for a Fender Strato-caster and i have some queries.
Firstly, some info: I’ve been playing for about a year and a half and i can’t exactly say that I’m an expert, but I’m not a complete dullard either loll! I plan to take up the guitar as a career and go to Berkley. I play Rock.
Now the queries:
1. What pickup setup should I go in for: 2 Single coil and a humpbucker or all single coils or what?
2. What’s the HSS in the name of a Stratoocaster mean?
3. Is it possible to but a normal strat and then later on get it fitted with a floyd rose locking tremolo system?
4. Whats the difference between a normal and a vintage guitar? Which one is more advisable?
5. Where can I buy a Strat in Bombay, India? How much will one cost approximately?
6. What exactly is a Hot Rod?
7. Do you think that there si another guitar that would be better and most cost effective that the strat?
