I have a ’79 Les Paul, and one of the buttons on the machine heads has come loose. I would like to replace the whole set, but I’m having trouble finding a replacement that is vintage nickel with nickel buttons. It seems like all they make now are pearloid. Does anyone know where I can find these? I live in Tampa, but I’m guessing I’m going to have to find this online somewhere. Otherwise, does anyone know a good bonding agent to get this thing stuck back on. It’s my low E string, so there’s a good deal of tension when you turn it…

I know Les Paul’s always have what they call “medium jumbo”, but I don’t know if Gibson used a smaller fret size similar to what Fenders used on their guitars in the 50′s. I’ve never been able to see or feel a real Gibson ES-150 or a vintage L-5. I think the newer L-5 models and ES-175 have frets similar to a current Les Paul.

i play rock and metal no jazz or country
I don’t refuse to play jazz or country, I just started playing a week ago and right now i’m just learning simple riffs and songs. Rock and metal are just my prefered genre to play right now. I just wanted the strings that matched the best with what genre I play the most of.

Got it second hand for just under £1000 on ebay, honest sounding seller. play tested it, it sounds awesome, has the classic vintage tuners, they have gibson deluxe on them, the headstock has ‘made in usa’ with an 8 digit code stamped on the back. the tone and volume knobs are alligned straight not diagonal, the truss rod cover has 2 screws not 3 and there is a nut underneath it.

TBH there is nothing that indicates this is a fake guitar but i just get paranoid, here is a link to the pics
