i want a replica of john frusciante’s (from red hot chili peppers) 1962 fender strat (3 tone sunburst). it has a very beat-up vintage appeal to it & i love it. here’s a picture for what i mean by “beat-up” and “vintage” look:

by saying vintage, i am mainly talking about that beat up body & neck of the guitar with the worn out edges from natural (or synthetic for a strat to buy) wear and tear. the other vintage parts (pickguard, pickups, knobs, etc.) can be bought. i just need the actual body & neck. any suggestions on where i can find this guitar?

new guitars (unused) are fine along with vintage guitars. an exact replica of the john frusciante strat would, of course, be better.

Vintage guitars, and some vintage amps, often are priced far higher than new guitars. Why is that? I’ve always felt that as technology improves the quality of a modern guitar should be better, too. I know that mass manufacturing versus handcrafted is an issue, but some new boutique guitars are still handcrafted.
