macoroni and melons asked: I have an vintage gibson acoustical guitar in original case, the guitar and case are in wonderful condition, however years ago, someone in our family saw that the label on the inside of the guitar was lifting up and removed it. The guitar has a serial number on the neck. How do I find the current retail value with the sticker inside telling the kind of guitar it is?

A26 asked: Is there any way you can turn a hard shell guitar case with no reserve, into one with a reserve? Do you just cut part of it out? Is there a better way to get more storage out of it. It’s a vintage gibson guitar case, used. It has no reserve with red interior lining. Is cutting out a box a bad idea?
Also, is a vintage case better than a brand new one?

alex m asked: I have a couple of old Gibson humbuckers I suspect to be 1958 originals but i’m not sure how to verify it. One has “PAT. NO. 2,737,842″ stamped in the back, the other only has a “Patent Applied For” sticker on it. How can I found out if they actually are 1958 originals?

Salley J asked: Really stuck on stickers on a vintage Gibson gutiar. Safe removal of remaining stickers without making more ghosts on it.
I did remove the ones I took off with oil, still leaves an outline of the sticker. It’s a beautiful gutiar, made in 1956 and the same model used by John lennon and Paul McCartney. I don’t have any car buffer stuff, do you think that will work if I buy some? Have you seen it work on something that old? I would really like to try and do it myself before I take it for restoration. Great answers though.

casey asked: the only equipment i have at the moment is a fender bullet 150 and it has some distortion effects but they make the overall sound pretty low quality. i’m using a vintage gibson sg with some modifications so what are some of the best distortion pedals that would sound great with my guitar? i’ve heard Digitech WH-1 Whammy and Pro-co cat were good but really im not very good with technical stuff so any opinions?
