I am guitar shopping but know little about fender other than I usually like vintage fender guitars. I know they have some NICE guitars but I know they have some TERRIBLE guitars too. I found a strat on Craigslist for 275 that I am going to try out but wanted others opinions on it. It was made in Mexico. A link to a pic is below. What do you think of the sound and quality of this guitar? I hope it’s good! I will be disappointed if it feels/sounds like a Fender Squire.

I have had a variety of appraisals on this original guitar I have owned for 49 years. I have the original tweed amp (Champ) and the original case. It is valuable, I know that. But, I can’t seem to find a venue to sell this on. When I go to online stores, they are all selling new “vintage” guitars for a couple thousand dollars. by saying vintage, i am mainly talking about that beat up body & neck of the guitar with the worn out edges from natural (or synthetic for a strat to buy) wear and tear. the other vintage parts (pickguard, pickups, knobs, etc.) can be bought. i just need the actual body & neck. any suggestions on where i can find this guitar?

new guitars (unused) are fine along with vintage guitars. an exact replica of the john frusciante strat would, of course, be better.

no. i have lots of vintage guitars- when i sell i dont write VINTAGE on them. like say i have a guitar made in, oh i dont know, ’59, thats old. then if i have a guitar from ’90, the one in ’90 is still nearly 20 years old- not as old as one almost 50 years old. BUT the ’59 isnt even close to one made in 1800′s! WHAT IS THE REASON THAT MOST THINK THE 59 IS VINTAGE (which i think) AND THE 90 ISNT (which i also think)!!!!!!!!

I have brochures on stratocasters, Fender Mustang and Fender Amps. Also, instructions on how to fix all kinds of different vintage guitars,amps and more. Cases of never used vinatge guitar strings and some vintage tuners. Almost everything is in original cases,boxes and are in good condition. Some excellent. I think there might be some vintage parts and fret boards also. Is there anyway to know if these things are collectible or worth much?
